Join the international team defending freedom in Ukraine!

Start/end dates flexible.

Role Description

We are seeking a remote volunteer intern to help expand and strengthen our outreach network. In this role, you can focus on:

  • Research – identifying potential outreach leads
  • Outreach – contacting leads using provided templates

You can choose to work exclusively on research, exclusively on outreach, or a mix of both – whichever best suits your skills and preferences. Your work will directly support a major national community engagement project, empowering Americans to take meaningful action in support of Ukraine.

About Ukraine Defense Support (UDS)

UDS is a Seattle-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit helping the people of Ukraine defend their country from the Russian invasion. We provide aid, equipment, and technical support to Ukrainian military units. Our work is powered by a global network of volunteers and partner organizations. All UDS staff are unpaid volunteers.

Time commitment:

  • Hours: 4+ hours/week (more if available)
  • Duration: Minimum 2 months, with opportunity to extend
  • Flexibility: We can accommodate exams, vacations, and other needs

Note: This is an ongoing program, and we are accepting volunteers on a rolling basis. Handshake requires us to list specific start/end dates, but in fact these dates are flexible according to your calendar or program requirements.

Qualifications

  • Passion for helping Ukraine and making a positive impact
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks remotely
  • Basic familiarity with Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office
  • Basic familiarity with at least one social media platform
  • Ability to follow instructions precisely
  • Professional and respectful written communication skills

Example Tasks (choose one or more):

  • Conducting online research via Google or social media platforms
  • Sending outreach messages to potential leads (templates provided)
  • Posting public updates to raise awareness of campaigns/events
  • Assisting with campaign promotion through your preferred platforms

What You’ll Gain

  • Flexible hours and fully remote work
  • Eligible for most institutions’ college credit programs – we’ll work with your school as needed
  • Career development mentorship and networking opportunities
  • Opportunities to connect in person with like-minded supporters in many major cities
  • The satisfaction of contributing to projects that make a real-world impact
  • A place on the right side of history

Important: This is an unpaid volunteer position.
