The fine and performing arts profession includes careers in and related to visual art, art history and management, graphic design, theatre, dance, and music.
Visual Art: Encompasses various aspects of the conception, creation, display, and consumption of visual artwork. This includes painting and drawing of all styles, sculpture, metallurgy, photography and more.
Art History, Industry, and Management: Focuses on the appreciation, management, commerce, and study of all art styles, as well as the historical examination and preservation of art and culture, including music.
Graphic Design and Management: Refers to the use of visual content, including print, typography, color, and layout to convey and communicate ideas and messaging that is salient, effective, and visually appealing.
Theatre: Careers in theatre include acting onstage and onscreen, technical theatre, costume design and management, screenwriting, and dramaturgy.
Dance: Dance professions include not just the performance of the many styles of dance but also the appreciation and study of dance as a pillar of both cultural history and modern artistic advancement. Other areas of professionalism in dance include teaching, therapy, and choreography.
Music: Seeking a career in music can refer to traditional performance with an instrument and/or voice as well as the advancement and experimentation of music through artistic evolution and innovations in recording technology. Music careers can also include venue and talent management, production, education, therapy, sound engineering, ethnomusicology, and historical studies.
