Can’t make it to the Career Studio for a resume/cover letter review?
Career Guides also offer resume and cover letter reviews via email. Please email us from your Appalachian student account to share your resume or cover letter with careerguide@appstate.edu. Career Guides will respond with feedback within five business days, excluding university breaks.
Who are career guides?
Career Guides are students’ first line of peer career assistance at the Career Development Center. Our Career Guides are high-achieving students trained by Career Development Center staff on recommended career resources, and they want to help their peers succeed! They can offer relatable insight into the career development process.
When to make an appointment
Sometimes, a Career Guide may recommend you make an appointment to receive more in-depth, individualized career guidance. Career coaches can help with:
- Major and career exploration
- Creating and tailoring your resume
- Curriculum vitae (CV) and personal statements
- Practice interviewing (mock sessions)
